description
More light, more chic, more comfort
With a small, exclusive program of comfort and owner-oriented blue water yachts, the shipyard in Les Herbiers on the French west coast is specifically looking to differentiate itself from the Sun Odyssey cruise program and is building a bridge to the upscale luxury segment. The two models Jenneau 57 and Jeanneau 53 offer the buyer even more extensive, high-quality basic equipment and a lot of flexibility for individual expansion requests.
The focus of the J 57: more light from the outside during the day, more pleasant lighting with artificial light at night, plus higher-quality materials for the upholstery covers and for the furniture surfaces with a larger selection of woods, colors and qualities.
Otherwise, there is plenty of space in the cockpit and on deck: for active sailing with a large crew (although the ship is easy to handle, even for very small crews, despite its exceptional size) and for lounging on the wide open spaces. Further technical refinements: behind the foldable bathing platform there is a large dinghy garage, and the gangway can also be extended electrically.
Three pairs of spreaders dominate the Sparcraft mast, which stands on the keel and is braced with Dyform shrouds. A total sail area of 158 m2 sets the 20.6 t heavy, 17.78 m long and 4.99 m wide blue water yacht in motion. The Jeanneau 57 is also the first production boat from the Les Herbiers shipyard with a VW engine. As in the large Oyster and Swan yachts, the engines from Volkswagen Marine also cut a fine figure in the new Jeanneau. The 140 hp five-cylinder TDI 140-5 is used, which the shipyard has given very good marks to, after extensive tests, especially in terms of smooth running and emission levels.
Below deck, the design continues as harmoniously as above. Light-colored upholstery combined with the teak surface structure of the fixtures, together with large window areas and many hatches, ensure plenty of light and air in the saloon. More muted colors can also be selected on request. There is also a fold-out house bar. Various configurations with three to five separate cabins and up to four bathrooms are possible for the fore and aft ship. If no extra guest cabins are required, the foredeck can be converted into a spacious owner's cabin with a sofa.
The U-shaped pantry on port side with a three-burner stove, right next to the companionway, is so generously dimensioned that even large crews can be catered for. The size and design of the navigation area opposite also leave nothing to be desired. If you are traveling around the world, additional units such as a generator and air conditioning system can be placed centrally below the floorboards.
